My Story

I lost my Dad in July 2021 to cancer back in Argentina. I couldn't travel from the UK to say goodbye due to the pandemic.  I started cycling earlier that year to cope with his illness and then loss, and cycling changed my life and helps me daily with grief. I am riding on Sept 3rd as a member of the Broughton Cycling Group in my Dad's memory and to help Willen Hospice to offer other families a comfortable and better way to face the challenges that life-limiting illness unfortunately brings.

From Willen Hospice: Fundraising through events like our Cycle Sportive help us to continue to care for local people and their families who are living with life-limiting illnesses. Our charity has a very special place in the hearts of people in MK and surrounding area. At the toughest time of their lives, we do everything we can so people feel relief from pain and families can enjoy the precious moments they have left together. While we can't change our patients' diagnosis, we can help improve their quality of life, as they come to terms with their illness. Our highly skilled professional team provide the best quality and heartfelt care - and it's all free to everyone who needs us. We can only do this because of the support of people like you.
