About

Hello everyone

Did you know I am MOOVING for Willen Hospice this summer; by taking part in their annual Midday Moo and they really need your help more than ever this year! So, if you could sponsor me, that would Moo-velous!

Most of us know,  Willen Hospice provides free expert care and support for local people with a life-limiting illness, and their loved ones, at what may be the toughest time of their lives.

As a family we experienced their compassionate and skilled care last year whilst my Dad was at the hospice. A hospice isn't always a place that people want to imagine spending their final days but for Dad and for us it was more than that. A friendly, homely environment with people who could support and guide us throughout. The care that is provided needs to be sustained to ensure that people like Dad have the choices of where they choose to spend their final days. That is why we need to support Willen Hospice in raising vital funds to keep the hospice running, maintain the workforce and to continue to provide a little bit of light in what feels like a very hazy time. It goes without saying that it wasn't just for Dad, it was for us all as a family and at a time we won't ever be regretful of.

Willen Hospice is more than just a physical place, did you know, last year alone their Willen at Home team made 5,196 visits to patients in their own homes.

They had 10,044 phone calls and emails with patients, to check in on them and provide advice and information.

Yet, only 13.8% of their running costs are met by ongoing NHS funding. This means they rely on the generosity of the community to help us raise around £8.7 million each year, so that they can continue to offer their specialist care to the local community completely free of charge.

I'm aiming to raise £100 so if you could please donate anything you can, it would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you, so much for your support and kindness - together we can make a difference!
